Good morning everyone with all this snow I got that super exciting text from school this morning to say that it was shut and that I get a snow day. Yay! I was thinking about what to do with my day and thought I would start with a snow day blog post. Here you will find 20 things to do with your snow day, some are sensible and work related others are just great fun.
1 - Go sledging
Go and find your nearest hills and take that sledge out, it's great exercise too.
2 - Catch up on marking
This one is a bit of a boring one but I'm sure you have a huge pile of marking that needs to be done and I always bring it home and then take it back without finishing it. If you brought some home yesterday that you haven't done yet take an hour to do some and get it out of the way.
3 - Read a good book
Lots of us love reading but never have the time and with it being World Book Day tomorrow there's no time like the present. Get yourself a good book and get settled, you could escape to anywhere.
4 - Plan a trip away in the summer holidays
If you aren't a fan of the snow how about chasing a bit of sunshine, you have all the summer holidays so plan a little trip to look forward to. It doesn't have to be really expensive just a few days somewhere. Groupon have some brilliant deals.
5 - Have a snowball fight
Another winter classic.
6 - Start a blog or add a blog post
This is what I decided to do first this morning, sometimes it is just really hard to find the time to write your next post. Have you had an idea that you haven't had change to write yet? Do it this morning while you have a bit of extra time, then pop your link in the comments so we can all have a little look.
7 - Make hot chocolate
Treat yourself to an amazing hot chocolate, I'm talking nice mug, cream and marshmallows here! I would even argue that it will be worth walking to the shop to get the ingredients for.
8 - Plan ahead
Another less fun one but one you may be thankful for in the long run. You need to plan for tomorrow anyway, well for the few lessons that are different to today's. Chose an hour when you are going to do that and if you finish early then why not plan one or two other lessons to get you ahead for later in the week.
9 - Build a snowman
Go on, then show us a picture.
10 - Watch a movie
Get on Netflix, Amazon or Now TV and watch something great snuggled up in your living room while the snow falls outside.
11 - Bake something tasty
I love baking and struggle to find the time, I'm either making cupcakes or cookies later today I just can't decide.
12 - Treat yourself to a spot of online shopping
Go on what have you wanted to buy for a while?
13 - Play a board game
Get out your board games and play some of the classics. My favourites are Monopoly, Cluedo and Articulate. There's so many good ones that we rarely get time to play these days.
14 - Wrap up warm and go for a walk
There's nothing better than making fresh new footprints in the snow.
15 - Go back to bed
Go on catch up on your sleep I won't tell anyone
16 - Create something
Have you started a project that you have never got round to finishing or even starting for that matter, why not get it out today.
17 - Write a letter
No one sends letters or notes to each other anymore which is a real shame so why not take some time to send a message to a friend the old fashioned way.
18 - Tidy a room in your house
Is there somewhere that you have needed to tidy for a while, go on get it done.
19 - Have a snowball fight
The last winter classic that I have for you.
20 - Learn something new
Is there a skill that you have been wanting to learn for some time, get yourself on YouTube and see what you could try today. Maybe crochet, knitting, sewing, writing, yoga..... you can find a tutorial on just about anything on YouTube.
Most of all enjoy your snow day ... have a beautiful day
